Access to justice for migrant workers in South-East Asia

The report is a regional analysis of existing complaint mechanisms available to the migrant workers, the challenges they face in the access to these mechanisms and suggestions for a way forward to strengthen the relevant legal and institutional frameworks. The results showed measurable progress in the access to justice for migrant workers in some countries in the ASEAN region. However, despite improvements, the report also concludes that everyday abuses against migrant workers continue to go unchallenged and there is an unmet demand for fair and responsive remedies. In order to provide migrant workers with just remedies, efforts should be put on improving accessibility and effectiveness of complaint mechanisms.
