Progress of the implementation of recommendations adopted at the 3rd- 8th ASEAN Forums on Migrant labour

The ASEAN Forum on Migrant Labour (AFML) is an open platform for the review, discussion and exchange of ideas and best practices among governments, workers’ and employers’ organizations, and civil society actors on key issues facing migrant workers in Southeast Asia. Participants of the AFML develop recommendations to advance the implementation of the ASEAN Declaration on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers. This document is the third in a series of background papers, biennially prepared by the ILO, that track the progress of ASEAN stakeholders in implementing recommendations adopted at previous AFMLs. The paper was presented at the 9th AFML held from 9 to 10 November 2016 in Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
